Wes was born with a heart for entrepreneurship, beginning several successful business ventures in both high school and college. By his second year at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Wes was running a franchised painting business with more than 20 employees and finished as the top producer in the state of North Carolina.

After graduating with an Economics degree from Chapel Hill, he moved to Atlanta, where he became a Vice President at one of the world’s largest investment firms in just five short years. As a Certified Financial Planner ™ Wes and his team manage more than $150 million dollars for entrepreneurs and business owners.

In 2004, Wes was selected from millions of applicants to be a candidate on the successful NBC show, “The Apprentice”. He has since been interviewed by The Today Show, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox and Friends, Kelly and Regis, and radio stations around the country.

In 2005, Wes published his first book, “Starting from Scratch – Secrets from 21 Ordinary People Who Made the Entrepreneurial Leap” through Kaplan publishing in Chicago. This book has become one of Kaplan's best selling titles. In 2006, the book was turned into a weekly television segment on NBC’s Atlanta & Company. The segment, "Starting from Scratch", is hosted by Wes and features interviews with the nation’s leading entrepreneurs.

Wes serves as an instructor at Emory University’s prestigious Center for Life Long Learning, where he teaches several classes on investing and financial planning.
