A native of
Columbus, Ohio, R.J. Shook graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, MA in
1987 and has been in the securities industry ever since.
Hired as a Financial Advisor at Prudential-Bache Securities in 1987, his
experience ranges from Investment Banking to Research.
R.J. began his career as a financial advisor. Frustrated that he didn't have
access to top advisors from which he could learn best practices, he wrote his
first Winner's Circle book, which profiles the best advisors in the
business. After a decade of Wall Street experience, he just released his fourth
edition,
The Winner's Circle IV, which is his eighth book.
R.J. also collaborates with his father,
Robert Shook, a New York Times best-selling author who has written nearly 55
books.
As an expert in identifying success patterns and characteristics of the
industry's top producers, no one has accomplished as much in-depth studies in
the financial services industry as R.J. The Winner's Circle rankings appear as
an annual cover story in
Barron's magazine, Research Magazine, and numerous other publications, like
NJ Monthly, Virginia Business magazine, and recently in Boston Magazine,
Connecticut Magazine, California CEO, Minneapolis Business Journal, Hawaii
Business, and many more. As a recognized authority on best practices in the
financial services industry, R.J. offers speeches, workshops, and leads panel
discussions on topics that are tailored for the audience and venue.
Shook resigned from Prudential Securities in June, 1999 to pursue his writing
career, and now The Winner's Circle on a full-time basis.
